What SpaceStack is
SpaceStack is an editorial site about the technical and operational decisions small teams face: how to pick software without regret, how to set up security and identity sensibly, how to automate the boring parts of the work, and how to keep a stack lean as the team grows.
It is written for freelancers, solo founders, studios and small teams of up to ~15 people — the operators who do not have a 10-person platform team to lean on and still have to get things done.
Who runs it
SpaceStack is operated and edited by Daniel P., a Tech Lead Senior Software Engineer based in Oslo, Norway with 26 years of hands-on experience shipping software — from web and mobile to 3D, real-time rendering, automation pipelines and applied machine learning. Daniel holds a Master's degree in Computer Science focused on Artificial Intelligence and has led engineering teams across product, consulting and education.

What we cover (and what we do not)
- Comparisons in software categories where decision-making — not vendor taste — is the hard part.
- Workflows that turn a scattered stack into a repeatable process, especially around security, identity and automation.
- A glossary of the SaaS and operations terms a small team has to understand to function.
- Small tools — checklists, calculators and decision templates that solve a single, concrete problem.
We deliberately stay out of topics we cannot bring useful primary experience to. We do not publish payroll, accounting or HR-specific guidance, for example — those are domain areas with their own expert practitioners, and that is who readers should be hearing from.
How content is made
Every article is owned by a named editor and goes through research, drafting, human editing and verification of any specific claim against the source. AI tools are part of the drafting workflow; they are not a substitute for editorial judgment. The full process, including how we use AI, is documented on the methodology page.
How the site is funded
SpaceStack is funded primarily by display advertising and may later include clearly labeled affiliate links. We do not take payment for placement, rankings or favorable coverage. If we ever do, it will be disclosed in the article itself.
